“My name is Rick Wilkes, and I’m the founder of Blades Sharpening Services. I learned this craft from my father-in-law, the late Ken Thornton, who owned and operated North Texas Sharpening Services for over 20 years. When his health began to fail, he asked me if I would like to learn the trade so I could help him and have a way to earn some extra income. I was honored to step in, learning the art of sharpening under his guidance and taking care of his loyal clients. After Ken’s passing a little over a year ago, I became certified and inherited the business, continuing his legacy while building my own client base. Today, I’m dedicated to expanding Blades Sharpening Services into a full-time business, providing high-quality sharpening solutions that keep tools working their best and helping professionals across Arlington and beyond do their best work.”
